    Live Authentically

LIFE IS TOO SHORT, PRECIOUS AND FRAGILE TO LIE TO ONESELF

KEEP IT REAL AND LIVE AN AUTHENTIC LIFE

    Reading Update...
I have finished reading Anatomy of a secret life by Gail Saltz. It was a very interesting and informative read. The beginning was a bit dry however it had a nice flow. It talks about the psychology of secrets and starts from the womb to infancy, to adolescent to adulthood. It explained the consequences of secrets and the underlining probable causes of why humans keep secrets. It makes a lot a sense, it was consistent and carried the logic straight through with in-depth explanations. Good read overall.

    Currently Reading...

Life is not a fairy tale by Fantasia (biography)

The happiness hypothesis by Jonathan Haidt

Japanese women don't get old or fat by Naomi Moriyama

Sometimes you just need to ask

Often time’s people silently wait for the offer of assistance from others. When the offer is not forth coming they become judgmental...criticizing, chastising and demoralizing the person mentally and verbally with anyone and everyone who would listen.

The question is to whom are they really angry with? Their selves for not advocating for self on their own behalf or the person with whom they fail to communicate their need due to pride, fear etc., when the solution is as  simple as asking...

If someone neglects to offer help, simply ask for it. What’s wrong with asking? Just be realistic and mindful however that the person(s) being asked has the right to choose to refuse, either way one have nothing to lose really. If they assist great! It means that the journey will be shorter and less encumbered. If they do not well then one simply take a deep breath and carry on as before and accomplish the task at hand.

Do not be inconsiderate of self by suffering in silence by refusing to ask for help, as others maybe inconsiderate of you by refusing to help.

It is wise to learn to advocate for one self....and stop pointing the finger at everybody else. While it’s great to get help and be supported it should be understood that sometimes one may have to journey part of the way alone…

Your happiness is your responsibility as are your successes, failures, joys and triumphs. Ask for what you want.....no is not such a bad thing, If nothing else...it'll make you realize what you are made of...

    Peace.

Today I Begin My Readin Quest

I’ve decided. Tonight I start with Anatomy of a secret life: the psychology of living a lie by Saltz, Gail

    Reading Quest Momentum picks up

Woo whoo! the fourth book is in…

    4.      Japanese women don't get old or fat: secrets of my mother's Tokyo kitchen by by Moriyama, Naomi.

Man I am going to have a mad weekend and weeks ahead, which shall I read first? Hey who said I have to choose, heck I start reading them all………aahhhhhhhhhhhh…….

    READING QUEST BEGINS

    Alright people!

I just checked and 3 of my 5 my library request are in hence my reading quest begins Aug 24, 2007

    1.     Anatomy of a secret life: the psychology of living a lie by Saltz, Gail.

    2.     Life is not a fairy tale by Fantasia

    3.     Self-seduction: your ultimate path to inner and outer beauty by Taylor, Mikki.

    First top 5-Reading Quest

I have taken some steps toward beginning my reading quest. Today I have place holds at the library on the following…. These were the five I wanted to start with.

    1. Anatomy of a secret life: the psychology of living a lie by Saltz, Gail.
    2. Japanese women don't get old or fat: secrets of my mother's Tokyo kitchen by Moriyama, Naomi.
    3. Life is not a fairy tale by Fantasia
    4. Self-seduction: your ultimate path to inner and outer beauty by Taylor, Mikki.
    5. The happiness hypothesis: finding modern truth in ancient wisdom by Haidt, Jonathan.

Which ones will come first is anyone’s guest, it all depends on availability, what I get first will be the determining factor in what I will read first. You didn’t think I would actually buy all those books do you? It’s not economically savvy. Come on now that is what libraries are for besides this also gives me the option of returning the books without any customer service mishaps, or consumer/management politics. If I find any of the books thrilling, mentally stimulating with information I designate valuable then I will purchase them. It’s a win win situation. Does any one care to join me in reading any from my first top 5 selections?

Oh by the way….."keep the suggestions coming". I will keep you posted. I will let you know what I am reading and in a short paragraph let you what I thought of the book. Just bare in mind that it will be my opinion from my perspective. We can agree to disagree or better yet you can share your views on any particular read, who knows it may enlighten me to seeing another viewpoint, which is always stimulating.

I think perhaps i will start my reading quests earlier than anticipated (mostly because i can't wait) as my status update from the library already have at least a couple (Antomy of a Secret & Self-seduction) "in transit"  maybe within a couple of days.....I will keep you informed. Peace have a fabulous one....

    Reading Quest

I am embarking on a reading quest to stimulate and tickle my intellect. To that end I am enlisting your assistance in finding me some spectacular reads. I do have some criteria however.

    It must:

    1.)  engage my brain

    2.)  be thought provoking

    3.)   make me think,

    4.)  challenge my perspective

5.)  not insult my intelligence by  attempting to make up my mind for me

    6.)  leave me thinking

The subject matter can be almost anything from philosophy, history, spirituality, and romance, to inspiration, motivational or transformational. I look forward to your recommendations.

    I am

    I am

    as I am

    as I say I am

    as I believe I am

not as you think I am

nor as you desire I am

    I am

    simply

    as I am

    Silence

    Silence

it is required when one stops learning.

    When growth is stunted,

    muted into stagnancy,

    Clogging the ears,

    the eyes,

    the heart.

The stench of incessant noise decays

    contaminates the mind

    suffocating oxygen,

    rutting comprehension.

    Disconnecting and misdirecting,

    bleeding the psyche

    Impregnating insidious callousness

    an internal, external death

    Shhh……

    be silent

     be still

    and

    Listen

    do some introspection

    heal the disconnection.

    get some direction

    shhh...

    Be still

    be silent

    and

    get the lesson
